Pre-University Program (PUP)

A Pre-University ("Pre-U") program is an intensive bridge course designed to prepare high school graduates for undergraduate studies. It typically lasts 1 to 2 semesters and helps students upgrade their academic qualifications, improve language proficiency (like IELTS/TOEFL), and fulfill specific university admission requirements.

1. Local & International Foundation Programs
Many universities in Bangladesh and abroad offer tailored foundation courses to bridge the gap between secondary education and a specific bachelor's degree.
  • Duration: Usually 4 to 12 months.
  • Curriculum: Core academic subjects, critical thinking, and language enhancement.
2. High School Upgrades (Gap Year Programs)
Often utilized by international students aiming for universities in North America, the UK, or Europe, these help students improve grades and language skills to meet competitive entry requirements.

3. Standardized Pre-U Qualifications
If you are currently in Grades 11-12, you can take standardized pre-university syllabi that are globally recognized for admissions.

 

  • A-Levels & IB Diploma: The gold standards for university admission worldwide, typically taking 1.5 to 2 years to complete.
  • CPU / CIMP: Canadian Pre-University and Canadian International Matriculation Programs, usually taking 12 to 18 months.
